Beyond the rest in its class	5 out of 5
...And so the time came to buy a new jacket for my forays into the hills. After trying on a number of jackets at other stores i was disapointed, i thought i would never find the jacket for me. Popping into craigdon one day i spotted this one out of the corner of my eye. I liked the colour (neon red) and the cut, it seemed to have a spark. It was bought and instantly thrown into the deep end... Winter walking in Glencoe, and it was there that the little things started to show that this was a very good buy. The cuffs kept out snow when my axe plunged wrist deep, the hem didnt ride up when i over stretched, i could adjust the hood easily with chewbacca esq gloves, and the pockets fitted map/compass/chocolate easily. I should mention it kept me dry, kept out the wind, allowed my merino wool/fleece/softshell to do their job and looked cool too. The one and only drawback is packability, it lacks the "scrunch" factor that other garmets have. If Mountain Equipment's other garments are this good (and my gaiters and gloves are pretty good) then it looks like theyre set for world domination.
