The Cliffhanger Outdoor Festival returns to Millhouses Park, Sheffield on the 3rd and 4th July this year. Packed with events, Cliffhanger showcases many of UK's most popular outdoor activities, but even better - you get a chance to try them out as well! For climbers, you'll find "Come and try it" walls where novices and experts alike can come along and get free instruction or simply hone your skills on several different grades of walls. On top of this, one of the major attractions of the festival has to be the IFSC Bouldering World Cup - pop along and watch some of the top athletes competing in one of 7 events worldwide.
If climbing isn't your thing, don't worry. Other great events include: mountain biking, mountain boarding, kayaking, orienteering, parkour (free running) and even skateboarding! Demonstrations and taster sessions are all included in the entry price.
As if that's not enough, there is plenty going on for the less adventurous as well! Farmers' markets will get your tastebuds a-tingling, while the treatment tent will give you a well deserved massage or free physio advice.
New this year is The Big Shake Out, from outdoor retailer Alpkit. Just a short walk from the festival, the Big Shake Out lets you come along and camp at Cliffhanger for the first time! With an entertainment marquee you'll find films to watch on Friday night, Live music on Saturday as well as a well stocked kitchen and licensed bar - alternatively, bring along your own food to cook on communal barbeques! Family-friendly and great value, The Big Shake Out is a great way to spend your Cliffhanger weekend.
